From 5 January 2015 GP practices may register patients who live outside their practice area without home visiting and other urgent care obligations when patient is at home and too ill to attend their registered practice.
St Fillans Medical Centre will consider an application from someone, requesting registration at this surgery. If it is deemed to be clinically appropriate for someone to register at the surgery, the practice will complete the registration process for that person.
Further information on this scheme is available from the surgery.
Any person requesting to be registered at St Fillans Medical Centre will, in the first instance, have to complete a Registration Request Form and this will then be considered by the GP Partnership.
If you are ill while away from home and are staying with someone who is a patient at this practice, you can receive treatment from this GP practice.
You can be registered as a temporary patient for up to three months. This will allow you to be on the local practice list and still remain a patient of your permanent GP. After three months you will have to re-register for a further three months or consider registering on a permanent basis at this practice.
To register as a temporary patient simply contact the practice. A practice do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment.
You cannot register as a temporary patient at a practice in the town or area where you are already registered.
